Spousal Sponsorship
There are 3 kind of Spousal sponsorships available as below:
- Husband/Wife sponsorship
You can sponsor your husband or wife directly. For the legal process, your marriage should be verified with required proof and certificates.
- Common-Law partner
Common-Law partner means, you and your partner aren’t married but you both are above 18 years and living together since last 12 months. In this case, after providing enough proof you can apply for spousal sponsorship.
- Conjugal partner
Conjugal partners are those who are in a relationship from the last 12 months, but because of any circumstances or any issue they couldn’t live together.
A Conjugal Sponsorship application is an application by a Canadian citizen or permanent resident to sponsor their conjugal partner.
For Eligibility:
- You must be at least 18 years old
- You must be living in Canada
- You should be a Canadian citizen, a permanent residence of Canada, Or you should be registered as a per Indian under the Canadian Indian Act
It is necessary that you have enough money to support the person you want to sponsor and for that you will need to submit your proof of income.
